What would be better for testing the grip of the tires than that awesome weather we had today!
Snow everywhere!
it took me about 2 hours, up and down, through ice, snow, tarmac and gravel to arrive at home, but it took me just a snatch to know YEAH DUDE THAT KICKS ASS!
I had to pull myself together to stop smiling all the time to avoid having a mouth full of snow...
All in all i recognised that i had unexpectet strong legs, maybe the snowshoehiking is even helpful concerning that :-)

the cellar

after always talking about it, here's a pic of my woderful cellar!
on the right rather on top is my trek road bike, if you wonder why it has no seat or crank:
the seat is on the cervelo at the moment, and the crank (old shimano squareend) should be disassembled and being replaced by the hollowetech II crank that was on the cervelo first...
the problem is that the bottom bracket is somehow rusty or dirty or whatever, so it's very hard to unscrew it, for some reason we don't have any spray or something like that at home that could solve the problem, guess i have to wait till monday.
so you see it's quite a building site down there!
the only complete bike is the corratec freeride one MTB.
I use it mainly for doing some rides now when i don't want to bore on the ergometer...
some details: i put up a new chain, new rear derailleur, new casette, it has got a mechanical disc brake on the front (the old one, magura julie, got leaky on the right as well as on the left side, but the problem was, i only had one mending part so the front brake as said had to be changed completely, while the rear one just got a new brackeleaver), hydraulic brake on the back
shimano xt deore shifting system...

Project 08 crackbrained...

... or the story of how the Canadian beauty lost her black soul...
This black stain was the only thing that somehow destroyed the harmony of the frame.
So as a first thing to act against this alien colour part i wraped the frame in newspaper to protect the rest of it...
I know the picture is ass but, you can see that it is already white.

The difficulty was to spray that amount of colour that covers the black but leaves no drops...
guess it went quite well, just the structure of the white on black is a litte different to the single white, but that is just visible at close range.

as i couldn't wait for the new chainrings to arrive, i had to build it up with the old ones
I know the chain is to long, i have already made it shorter.
there will be red Look Keo Sprint pedals on the crank

Project 08 gets real

The fsa superlight crank was the first to come...
i found it on ebay, very cheap related to the normal price...
as you can see, i also added golden chainringscrews as well as new shiftwheels a golden YBN chain (compareable to a KMC) and red quick release skewers...

as shown below i paintet the rear derailleur white&red just like the

cervelo colours...

this shouldn't stay the only paint-experiment...

Project 08 ideas

As i wanted to have an idea of how the whole thing would look like with all components on it i tried to bring it to paper...
most difficult was the question of the aerobar, i don't want to tell which one made the race at this time...
I was choosing between:
the new HED vantage 8
the Bontrager Race xxx lite Aerobar
and the Easton tt Attack

Profile design aerobar
Choice saddle (briefly afterwords replaced by a FSA saddle)


I had it for the whole 07 season but after i got an offer for zipp 606 and a split in both brake horns of the bar i decided to build it up a whole different way...
